I feel like I had to come onto my 'own' blog to express my new-found love with Beyonce's (oops, I mean Mrs. Carter's) new self-titled album. I will be the first to admit that I have never been a Beyonce fan (Rihanna is more of my crowd, no shade to Bey). I liked a few of her songs after Destiny's Child split up, but that's about it. I felt, Beyonce as a individual artist, she lacked soul and strength in her music. Honey, I tell you with this new album, Beyonce has delivered life back into the female Pop/R&B music game! This album gives the the Destiny's Child vibe with Beyonce's heart, soul, and mind on display. Some may argue that her album is a brimming start of a new 'feminist' movement. I wouldn't say her album has sparked a feminist movement however, it is an addition to how women currently express themselves in the 21st century.
There's no argument that Beyonce has worked extremely hard on this album. I listened to the entire album and I find that Beyonce has let the world into a side of her life that we often do not see. The lyrics and videos to her songs are raw, raunchy, hot, and sensual! I don't think Beyonce should be ashamed of expressing her sexuality in her music. Frankly, I applaud her for it! She gives women everywhere a voice they may not have had before. In my opinion, there is not one song on this album that is not entertaining. Here's the rundown of the songs and videos included in this album:

I think only Beyonce can pull off keeping her album release a secret and releasing 17 videos all in the same time frame. I don't know if I'm correct or not however, I believe she has released more videos than any artist this year. The album cover is simple and self-titled in baby pink. What are my favorite songs and videos?
My absolute favorite songs and videos are:
- Partition
- Yonce (feat. some of the world's top Black supermodels… Jourdan Dunn, Chanel Iman, Joan Smalls)
- Drunk In Love
- ***Flawless (powerful words on this track by Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche)
- Pretty Hurts
- Jealous
- No Angel
I really did enjoy the entire album. I can proudly say I'm a Beyonce fan. This album is on point and has a sultry, sexy, grown woman vibe. I paid $15.00 I believe from iTunes for the album. All the emotions a woman goes through can be visualized in this album. Well worth it!
