5 ways To Rock A blazer
It's no doubt that summer is officially over. Cooler temperatures, can call for layering different garments and pieces together. One of my favorite items to wear during the Autumn season are Blazers. Blazers can be worn day or night, in a professional setting, or a night out on the town. They add a polished and poised look to any outfit. I have 5 popular ways how I think a Blazer should be worn. Please see the illustrations above for examples, in the corresponding order.
- Layering Shirts: The most easiest way to wear a blazer, is layering it over a t-shirt, button down shirt, tank top, tunic, or blouse. If you can also layer shirts together with blazers (e.g.. image #1 above).
- Skirts: For a more professional or poised look, you can pair a blazer with a skirt. This adds a feminine touch for those going for a more professional look. You can add any accents you want for a more edgier look (e.g.. image #2).
- Shorts: I love to see women rocking a funky blazer with a pair of shorts. If you dare to show off a little skin, this can be the perfect date night outfit. This type of combo can give you a cool downtown-chic edge (e.g.. image #3). This look is perfect for parties and social events.
- Dress: Pairing a blazer with a dress sets off an eclectic romantic vibe. You can wear a plain blazer with a colorful dress as seen in image #4 above.
- Pants: Paring pants with (non-jean material) a blazer creates a professional look that can be worn to the office or to an interview, depending on your mix of patterns/colors/style. I love the way Lucy Hale wears a blazer with matching bottoms and a lace top (image #5). This look can be something one can wear to the office.
- Jeans: * This is not listed in one of the images above however, wearing jeans with a blazer is very second nature. It goes pretty well together like peanut butter and jelly. I like to call this a "safe" look. This is a look you can get away with outside the professional setting.
