Being a Diva: Hair Edition

I'm going to jump right into this... I've been a bit of a diva lately when it comes to my hair. I've been longing for straight locks for the past couple of weeks or so. Thank God I have enough will power to stop myself from doing the unthinkable. I'm not saying straightened hair is bad. However, I'm transitioning, I need to baby my new growth and relaxed ends as much as I can. If I want to do my Big Chop at the 6-8th month mark, it's best I leave my hair alone. I love my curly styles believe me I do. I've been rocking twist/braid outs strictly with a few buns thrown in here or there, since the beginning of this year. Sometimes we all want a change. To be honest with you, I really like the Curly Girl Method. If I was just using any old ish on my hair, I would have used heat on my hair a long time ago. I use products that are all natural, water soluble, and that are "CG" friendly. I really don't want to incorporate silicone's and sulfates in my regimen too often. I don't want to bother with the whole aspect of clarifying and stripping my hair dry. Preparing for heat styling is also an all day affair for me. I don't have time anymore to sit at home and air dry my roller sets.  Transitioning is not for the weak! One of my friends, who is natural had to put me in my place yesterday, and bring me back to reality. I need to leave my alone! I've come this far to have any set backs. I've been loyal towards the goals I set for my hair since I began transitioning. This "desire" to straighten my is dying down now. It's too dang hot outside to go through all that effort! In the fall I would probably do protective styles like kinky twists or regular single twists in my hair. That's all for now. I've had enough of ranting for the week. Ciao dolls!
