Baked by Melissa & Essie Gel Couture Review

One of my favorite guilty pleasure sweet treats are Baked by Melissa's bite sized cupcakes and macaroons. Anytime, I'm in the City, heading to a Baked by Melissa shop is a must! The company was founded by female entrepreneur Melissa Ben-Inshay, who was fired from her job in advertising, which prompted her pursue a career in baking. At the end of April, I purchased a small tray of 6-pack cupcakes in Lemon Meringue and Cake Pop, from a local shop in Manhattan. Most cupcake flavors are seasonal, and you can always check the website to see what flavors are trending. To learn more about Baked by Melissa, you can visit the website here.

I am a Gel manicure lover and prior switching long-wear polish, I was a Essie fanatic. A few weeks ago, I purchased Lace Me Up polish and the top coat by the Essie Gel Couture line. To my surprise, I was able to get 4 days wear out of this polish before it started to chip. I'm sure if my application was done poorly however, the polish did not go on as smooth as I would like. Is this an alternative to Gel polish without light? Absolutely! More than likely, I would be applying this on my toes. I still prefer gel manicures with light, and OPI has a better application than most polishes I've tried. You can find the Essie Gel Couture line at your local drug store or at Ulta.
